Job Description:

  • Pediatric & developmental knowledge and expertise
  • Strong understanding of gross motor development from early childhood through early adulthood
  • Educational Regulations: Familiarity with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act
  • (IDEA), Section 504 compliance, and the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process.
  • Knowledge of adaptive equipment, wheelchairs, orthotics, and environmental modifications to support student independence in the school setting
  • Ability to pivot techniques seamlessly based on the student's age, needs, and abilities
  • Strong communication skills to partner effectively with parents, teachers, other related service providers, and special education teams and administration.
  • Ability to safely lift, transfer, and position students of varying sizes and weights, as well as maneuver heavy adaptive equipment
  • Providing specialized therapy to address goals as per the student's Individual Education Plan/504 Plan; monitoring and reporting student progress
  • Ability to assess student needs, progress, and evaluate for initial and re-evaluations through the CSE process
