  • The School Psychologist in the Pavilion Central School District is part of a cohesive team of individuals whose goal is to educate and guide our students in the least restrictive environment.  The team is devoted to student success not only in school, but in their post-secondary lives as well.

  • The School Psychologist follows the teacher’s 10-month school calendar, with the option of working up to 20 additional days as needed.

 

 

Job Duties: 

  • Conduct necessary evaluations and comprehensive reports, either written or verbal to assist the special education team in determining the appropriate program to meet the student’s individual needs.
  • Attend Committee on Special Education meetings as needed and act as one of the districts CSE referral designees and the alternate CSE/CPSE Chairperson in the event that the primary CSE/CPSE Chairperson is unavailable.
  • Work closely with the Director of Pupil Personnel Services/CSE Chairperson and special education staff to help to support student academic and social success.
  • Work to establish positive relationships with our families to support our students’ success.
  • Serve on the Response to Intervention Committee (RTI), Instructional Support Team (IST), Behavioral Support Team (BST), Child Study Team (CST).
  • Other duties may include, but are not limited to, character education, counseling, consultation, etc..
Job Qualifications
  • NYS School Psychologist Certification required – provisional or permanent.  
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, district representatives, parents and community agencies.
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
